Shraddha Kapoor’s Baggit TVC puts an end to Mansplaining

Shraddha Kapoor Baggit Advertisement#PutItOnTable

Many men have this habit of interrupting a woman when she talks. They think they know better and hence try to overspeak. This practice is commonly called mansplaining. Baggit India’s latest advertisement is trying to highlight this issue. But though their intention was right, they lacked behind in the execution.

The 35 seconds shot features Shraddha Kapoor, Maya Sarao, and Anand Tiwari. The three are having a conversation and Maya is trying to explain some things to Shraddha. Each time she starts to make an important point, she is interrupted by Anand. Fed up by all this, Shraddha keeps her Baggit bag on the table, and says, “if you can speak for her, my bag can speak for me.”

One problem with this advert is that even a pen or an apple could have made the point that Shraddha made with her bag. So, the essence of the product was lost somewhere in the execution. It lacked the wow factor and appeared to be something very ordinary.

Famous Innovations conceptualized this television advert, and Aarati Kakkad of Curious Films directed it.
