Until today, I had never heard of RBL bank. I didn’t know that it was founded prior to India’s independence in August 1943. I didn’t know that RBL is one of the oldest private sector banks in India. But today, after watching its three beautiful adverts, I was compelled to know more about it.
Last week, on 20th January, RBL Bank launched its latest commercials that were made under McCann Delhi. The ad films were produced by Jamic Films and were all directed by Nikhil Rao. All the videos are crisp, fresh looking and exactly 47 seconds long.
The first commercial titled Holiday shows a couple who has to cancel their holiday trip because the wife (played by Rutuja Shinde) is unwell. Due to this, the lady is sad. Her husband (played by Nakul Bhalla) then extends the holiday by using RBL’s instant loan tool.
The second ad film titled Reunion shows a young man (played by Sukant Goel), walking around an electronic store. His friends want him to buy a big television as a combined gift for their teacher. Considering the finances, the man lies to his friends and says that the expensive TV isn’t available at the store. His friends realise that he was being close-fisted. In that very moment, they all transfer him the money through Bhim at RBL Bank and make him buy the Television set. The friend in the office is played by Shiv Tandan, and the other 3 friends are Tapisar Singh Sethi, Pushkar KR, and Tushar Kaushik. The real name of the old teacher is Sharad Wagh.
The third and my favourite of the lot is named Rakhi. A man (played by Karan Puri) and his sister (played by Sanjana Sanghi) live in different cities. It’s Rakhi day, the young man ties his rakhi on his own and sends a picture to his sister along with some instant money. The sister is angry because she expected more money from the brother. So, after teasing her a bit, he sends her more money through RBL Bank’s Chat pe option.
All the commercials promote different features of RBL Bank. Considering that the brand has named these adverts as TVCs, they will be soon spotted on different channels.
May the force be with RBL Bank. Congratulations to all the people involved in these ads and good luck for the future work.
