Book Review: Wonder by R.J. Palacio

Going to a new school and starting a new class is hard for everyone. But imagine the plight of someone who is way different from others and has never really enjoyed the company of people.

“You can’t blend in when you were born to stand out.”

August Pullman was born with a deformed face. Even after many surgeries and expensive treatments, his face didn’t look any better. Until 5th grade, he was home schooled and not had many friends. One day, his parents enrolled him in a regular institution. From there on his universe changed completely.

Wonder is an extremely joyful book written by R.J. Palacio. It was first published in the year 2012 by The Random House Children’s Publishers in the UK. Every since then, Wonder has been collecting love from across the globe.

Wonder is technically a children’s book but it will make people of all age groups laugh and cry through its beautiful writing. What makes it even more special is that nothing in the book seems odd or unreal. In fact, the troubles and the problems of other characters in the book have also been well portrayed.
