Emami’s Navratna Oil has a good old association with legendary Bollywood actor, Mr Amitabh Bachchan. The actor has done many ad films for the brand in the past and has once again been featured in the latest promotional video of Navratna.
The TVC has been Conceptualised by Leo Burnett Orchard and is directed by Nitesh Tiwari (Opticus Films). He has previously directed Bollywood movies like Dangal, Bhoothnath returns and Chillar party and has also won the National Film Award for Best Children’s Film and the National Film Award for Best Screenplay.
In this quirky advertisement, Mr Bachchan is seen singing and dancing to Johny Walker’s famous song ‘‘Sar Jo Tera Chakraye’. The lyrics have been changed to speak out the various benefits of applying Navratna oil.
Perhaps it is because of his connection with his root, the actor could so naturally bring out the DESIness quotient in this one. It sure was refreshing to see Mr Bachchan in this avatar.
The 75 seconds long ad film was made public on 5th April 2017. I personally never came across it on TV but I am hoping that the brand has set aside funds to promote this TVC on Indian television. The brand has a different set of following who might not be very active on social media but that should not give it an excuse to not promote it widely on this medium as the time is changing and digital marketing should be taken seriously.
