Some ads are so amazing that they can literally bring tears to your eyes. They play the string of emotion and insert the product deeply into your heart. One such ad is Visa India’s ‘A teacher and student’s #KindnessIsCashless story’.
On 8 November 2016, the government of India demonetised ₹500 and ₹1000 notes causing a massive cash crunch in the society. Many brands tried their own ways to promote demonetization in their favour. But by far Visa India is amongst the few who have been able to it the right way.
In a short film that was released on 23rd February 2017, a teacher, played by M.K. Raina, talks about his disconnect with the current generation. He wonders if he is able to impart important life decisions to his students. His eyes fall on a disinterested boy listening to music while he was teaching in the class. After that, he spots that boy at various places making him wonder about his initial thoughts. In the end, to the old man’s surprise, the boy sees the teacher standing at the ATM line and offers him to teach about online transactions. And very subtly, “Visa” is placed on top of the “Point of Sale” machine.
Honestly, by the end, I felt teary eyed. This ad film was made by BBDO Worldwide. M.K. Raina’s powerful voice brought the adequate depth in the film. If you don’t understand Hindi then you must turn on the subtitles for this one.
